Alexandre Dias Pereira is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where he teaches Business Law and Intellectual Property, Cyber Law and Business Law. He is also guest Coordinator Professor at the Coimbra Business School (ISCAC), and has served as invited law professor at the Portucalense University (Porto) and at the University of Macau (China). He received a Masters and a Doctorate in Law from Coimbra, with a thesis on Copyright and Freedom of Information published by Almedina in 2008. Erasmus student at the Leuven Catholic University (Belgium) and sabbatical visiting researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich (Germany), he is an invited lecturer at the Summer School on European Private Law at the University of Salzburg (Austria) and teaches in several postgraduate courses. Moreover, he has been a guest speaker at dozens of national and international scientific meetings. A researcher at the Institute for Legal Research, Alexandre Pereira is a member of scientific societies and editorial boards, and has authored more than one hundred publications in national and international law books and journals, such as, more recently, ‘The right to digital privacy’ in Commentary to the European Convention on Human Rights (ed. Albuquerque, Lisbon, 2019), ‘digital content and services contracts’, in Studies on Consumer Law (2019), ‘Data controller’, in Data protection (ed. Wachowicz, Curitiba, 2020). As of March 2021, he is Director of Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra (Coimbra University Press).
