The following specific research coordination objectives shall be accomplished:

          ● To deliver a comprehensive conceptual and normative assessment of the complexity of challenges related to the task of providing transparent, accountable and standard-based online content assessment by private Internet service providers.
          ● To develop, with stakeholder involvement, guidelines and commentary laying out detailed methodology for balancing conflicting human rights on the Internet and minimising the risks related to hate speech online.
          ● To impact stakeholder practice and increase public awareness (the latter leading to increased public pressure to address human rights concerns online) through the dissemination of the research results to the Internet companies and journalists (stakeholders) and the Internet service users (the general public)
          ● To study the potential threats and long-term effects of using artificial intelligence for assessing and recommending action regarding the content of information published in online sites (matters of censorship, transparency, accountability).

We engage in special activities aimed at institutional dissemination of our research findings to reach specific groups of stakeholders. We do it by providing opportunities for knowledge exchange and thus bridging the gap between academia, Internet stakeholders and political establishment.

Capacity building is an important element of our work. We aim at enhancing knowledge about novel research issues related to human rights law and the Internet. We promptly react to novel theoretical and doctrinal challenges in the area of human rights and the online world, and in parallel critically assess established or emerging practices to provide effective protection of human rights online. Human rights specialists will gain access to technological expertise of the stakeholders, while stakeholders will benefit from the in-depth human rights knowledge of the academic members of the network.
